West Adams Wins 2015 Best Neighborhood Curbed Cup

FEB16WAdmsEvery year Curbed LA, the popular website devoted to information about neighborhoods and real estate in Los Angeles, hosts a competition for the Curbed Cup which is awarded to the best neighborhoood in Los Angeles.

How is the neighborhood selected?
By well informed and experienced judges tallying scores in categories that identify the awesome qualities that make a great neighborhood. Attributes like the least neighborhood disputes, most parking available,  the most community activists or most functional block clubs?  Fastest increase in property values in the last year?  Highest number of new local businesses opening?  Although these qualities catch the eye of the editors who choose the competing neighborhoods it will be the local community members who will compete against each other in exciting, knock down, drag out voting efforts made online.

Nextdoor sites, facebook pages, twitter and all media outreach light up as members blast their lists trying to rally the masses to get online and vote.

It was an exciting nailbiter for West Adams members as they defeated North Hollywood, Frogtown and Inglewood to be pitted against Pacoima who fought and fought hard only to lose against West Adams 4887 votes to 4109. As Curbed LA commented "Let's just hope this honor doesn't drive up housing prices too much in 2016. Congratulations, West Adams!"

The prize? Bragging rights.
