Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Gives Unanimous Support to 5 Year Mid-City Recovery Redevelopment
The crowd attending the May 20 CRA meeting at the Nate Holden Performing Arts broke out into applause as CRA unanimously approved the 5 year plan to develop the Mid-City community.
The plan includes 5 goals;
1 Attract private investment for 2375 Washington
Blvd., 3900 Jefferson Blvd., Adams/La Brea and the
Crenshaw Gateway
2 Business Retention with a commercial facade
program, Jefferson Blvd. Streetscape and Public
Improvement Program, a marketing plan and a Pico
Blvd. parking district/structure.
3 Develop Affordable Housing; 5th Ave. and Jefferson
blvd. Mixed Use Project, Capri Villas Senior Apart
ments, Crenshaw Villas, Tuelyn Terrace.
4 Job Creation and Retention Programs; Capacity building
program, Workforce Development Program.
5 Implement the Mid-City Vision and Implementation Plan
Crenshaw Blvd. Parking district, Expansion of the Greater
Crenshaw Leimert Park Business Improvement District, Vision
